Sarah George (-Skolly), is a self taught artist, born and raised in Saskatchewan; residing in Alberta since 1990, but has been a resident of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta since 1993.

In 1995, Sarah entered her first art show and thus began her career in art. She is a mother of three and grandmother of seven.

Sarah has been the art co-ordinator at the Tamarack Motor Inn, Rocky Mountain House Alberta, since the year 2000. She hosts their annual Art Show and Sale.

Sarah was commissioned by the Town of Rocky Mountain House to illustrate in a history book, “Where the River Brought Them” for the towns bi-centennial in 1999.

In 2005, Sarah was commissioned by Archie Griffith, Vic Maxwell, Voyageurs, and the Hudson’s Bay Company to paint 2 elk hide scrolls for presentation to Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to Edmonton for the province’s Centennial.

“Passage Denied” (an acrylic painting depicting the life and times of David Thompson), was commissioned by the Voyageurs as a tribute to David Thompson and in celebration of the David Thompson Bi-Centennial, 2008-2011.   Limited Edition prints are available for sale. Funds from the sales of the prints are used for the promotion of canoeing for sport and recreation and for appreciation of Canadian history.

In the past, Sarah has competed and won several art contests. These include book cover illustrations, logo illustrations and cake decorating.

One thing Sarah did just for fun, was created a rodeo coloring book.

Her hobby has always been art, but she also enjoys the guitar.

Sarah has been active in her community with her church organization, different service clubs and networking.
